Inspired Teaching hosts Brown University Women’s Leadership Council education panel and discussion
The Inspired Teaching Demonstration School welcomed distinguished guests for an event hosted by Aleta Margolis on behalf of Brown University’s Women’s Leadership Council. The District of Columbia’s Deputy Mayor for Education, Jennifer Niles, gave a keynote presentation, followed by a response panel with five Brown University alumnae with different roles in the field of education.

At the Learning Forward 2015 National Conference, Center for Inspired Teaching led three separate sessions on inquiry-based and student-centered instruction for teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators from across the globe.

Inspired Teaching opened the Catalogue for Philanthropy’s annual Inspiration to Action event, engaging the audience of philanthropists and community leaders with an interactive activity that highlighted the radical difference between the conventional school experience and the Inspired Teaching school experience.

Real World History hosts fair for internships at historic DC sites
On December 3rd, the second annual Real World History Internship Fair took place at Cardozo High School as staff members from DC museums and historic sites interviewed students to determine their second semester internships.

Aleta Margolis featured at the Ashoka Turkey Changemaker Education Summit
On November 28, Aleta Margolis addressed a convening of school directors, educators, young people, civil society leaders, and philanthropists at the Changemaker Education Summit in Istanbul.

Inspired Teaching partners with National Center for Teacher Residencies on new initiative
Inspired Teaching will partner with the National Center for Teacher Residencies (NCTR) to continue transforming teacher preparation as NCTR, which received a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, becomes one of five Teacher Preparation Transformation Centers across the United States.

Inspired Teaching presents at inaugural STEM Summit
On November 5th, the DC STEM Network hosted its inaugural STEM Summit. Inspired Teaching’s Aleta Margolis and David Yarmchuk both presented at the event, which was open to STEM educators, administrators, and policymakers from across the DC-region.

On November 10th, Real World History students had an opportunity to effect change in their schools when they met with the High School Credit Flexibility Task Force at Ballou High School in Washington, DC.

On September 16, Inspired Teaching Founder and Executive Director Aleta Margolis addressed the Washington, DC Rotary Club about Inspired Teaching’s philosophy, accomplishments, and plans for the future.

Inspired Teaching joins Think It Up kickoff telecast
On September 11, the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) launched a new national education initiative, Think It Up, with a live, special broadcast on all four major US networks. Inspired Teaching was invited to attend the telecast in Los Angeles and to contribute to the initiative.
