Join Center for Inspired Teaching as we celebrate our 20th Anniversary. In school year 2015-16, Inspired Teaching will commemorate the programs and partnerships we’ve built since 1995 when our founder Aleta Margolis created the first Inspired Teaching Institute,  an intellectually, emotionally, and physically engaging professional development program that transforms the role of the teacher from dispenser of information to Instigator of Thought®.

On August 26, Inspired Teaching staff joined Institute alumni; teachers enrolled in the Inspired Teacher Certification Program; Teacher Leaders in Inspired Teaching’s district-wide partnerships with DC Public Schools; and faculty from the Inspired Teaching Demonstration School for a 20th Anniversary celebration and back-to-school event at Nationals Park.

Thanks to the sponsorship of the Nationals and PNC Foundation, teachers had the opportunity to gather together, learn through play in an activity led by Inspired Teaching, and celebrate their continuing impact as educators while enjoying peanuts, Cracker Jacks, and an exciting ballgame. New teachers just preparing to enter the classroom had the opportunity to meet veteran educators, including Benita Nelson-Tutt, a graduate of 1999 Inspired Teaching Institute.

Over the coming year, Inspired Teaching will continue to celebrate our commitment to education, honor our outstanding teachers, and look forward to increasing our impact and reach. Follow all Inspired Teaching 20th Anniversary updates, news, and invitations at #20YrsInspired!
