Inspired Teaching presents at Ashoka U Exchange
This February at the Ashoka U Exchange, Mara Duquette, Inspired Teaching’s Manager of Teacher Certification, and Athena Kopsidas, 1st grade Master Teacher at the Inspired Teaching Demonstration School, joined an innovative and diverse group of educators on the opening Changemaker Panel to discuss how they are preparing teachers to succeed in today’s rapidly changing education system, where empathy and changemaking are increasingly necessary skills for youth to achieve their fullest potential.
Inspired Teacher Leaders facilitate professional development for peers
Inspired Teaching’s Caitlin Wolf describes her experience at one of the district-wide professional development days hosted by DC Public Schools throughout the school year. This year, Inspired Teaching’s SCALE: Science Curriculum Advancement through Literacy Enhancement Teacher Leaders have been asked to lead several of the sessions, introducing the Cornerstones they’ve developed for use in DCPS schools and facilitating inquiry-based PD experiences.

Inspired Teaching hosts Brown University Women’s Leadership Council education panel and discussion
The Inspired Teaching Demonstration School welcomed distinguished guests for an event hosted by Aleta Margolis on behalf of Brown University’s Women’s Leadership Council. The District of Columbia’s Deputy Mayor for Education, Jennifer Niles, gave a keynote presentation, followed by a response panel with five Brown University alumnae with different roles in the field of education.

Inspired Teaching partners with National Center for Teacher Residencies on new initiative
Inspired Teaching will partner with the National Center for Teacher Residencies (NCTR) to continue transforming teacher preparation as NCTR, which received a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, becomes one of five Teacher Preparation Transformation Centers across the United States.
Inspired Teaching presents at inaugural STEM Summit
On November 5th, the DC STEM Network hosted its inaugural STEM Summit. Inspired Teaching’s Aleta Margolis and David Yarmchuk both presented at the event, which was open to STEM educators, administrators, and policymakers from across the DC-region.
