Inspired Teaching’s Cosby Hunt served as an expert mentor and facilitator at Think It Up Live, held at Cardozo Education Campus in Washington, DC. Think It Up aims “to excite students about learning, celebrate teachers, and help innovate the learning experience in America.” The event brought together student-teacher teams to create projects designed by the students to benefit their communities.

A team from the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) visited the Inspired Teaching Demonstration School to learn about the residency-based Inspired Teacher Certification Program. Inspired Teaching was one of a select few sites in the United States, as the OECD investigates effective, innovative teacher preparation worldwide.

“I have read how to teach children how to think, not what to think, and now I see it here. I would like to know whether this can happen in Brazil, too.” A delegation comprising the most outstanding principal in each state of Brazil visited the Inspired Teaching Demonstration School.

Inspired Teaching’s Manager of Strategic Initiatives, Sammy Magnuson, attended and facilitated at the Changemaker Education Summit in Killarney, Ireland. Inspired Teaching is working closely with Ashoka to promote a collective vision in which every young person builds the skills to thrive in, and contribute to, our complex and rapidly changing world.

Inspired Teachers and Inspired students presented action research, shared their experiences interning at DC historic sites, and facilitated inquiry-based activities at Inspired Teaching’s interactive end-of-year celebration

With the aim of expanding Inspired Teaching’s reach and impact, the Board of Center for Inspired Teaching is pleased to announce the appointment of Jane Dimyan Ehrenfeld as Executive Director, effective July 1, 2016.

On April 21, the Inspired Teaching community came together at the 2016 Chocolate Inspiration gala, celebrating 20 years of Inspired Teaching, honoring author and activist Jonathan Kozol, and sampling inspired chocolate creations from some of the finest DC-area chefs.

Inspired Teaching’s Director of Teaching and Learning, Jane Ehrenfeld, traveled to Billund, Denmark for the LEGO Idea Conference, facilitating a session at this annual, international gathering of educators, policymakers, and education thought leaders.

On Thursday, April 21, at the 2016 Chocolate Inspiration gala, Inspired Teaching will honor award winning author, educator, and activist Jonathan Kozol as the inaugural recipient of the Inspired Teaching Changemaker Award.
