On August 20, Center for Inspired Teaching staff and Inspired Teaching BLISS and SCALE Teacher Leaders led district-wide professional development for DC Public Schools.

Sessions facilitated by Inspired Teaching reached over 140 DCPS social studies teachers and approximately 200 DCPS science teachers. Inspired Teaching SCALE Teacher Leaders co-facilitated sessions on DCPS’ implementation plan for the Next Generation Science Standards, while Inspired Teaching BLISS Teacher Leaders ran sessions introducing teachers to the new College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Social Studies.

Inspired Teaching staff ran a session on Common Core Speaking and Listening and choice sessions on Student Learning Needs, Designing a Student-Centered Classroom, and the Hidden Language of the Classroom.

All sessions were well-attended and well-received as DCPS teachers prepared for the first day of school year 2014-15.
