Center for Inspired Teaching has been based in Washington, DC, since its founding in 1995, and we have been proud to work with teachers, administrators, and leaders from DC Public Schools for over twenty years. Most recently, Inspired Teaching and DCPS ran a formal partnership to develop Teacher Leaders who could lead their peers across the district in implementing rigorous, inquiry-based, standards-aligned instruction.

Formal Learning in Museums and Historic Sites

Cosby Hunt, Inspired Teaching’s Senior Teaching & Learning Officer, writes for the American Association for State and Local History about the inspiration for Real World History as an opportunity for students to “‘get their hands dirty’ with history.” A former student, her internship advisor and her parent all illustrate how over the semester the class saw “history as a story unfolding, with characters they could relate to.”
