Inspired Teaching Demonstration School off to a great start in year 2!

The Inspired Teaching Demonstration School welcomed students and families for the first day of the 2012-13 school year on August 27. Families entered the school full of excitement, and children left for the day excited to return for the next.

Ashoka's StartEmpathy team recently gathered together educators from five schools across the U.S., including the Inspired Teaching Demonstration School, to talk about what empathy education looks like in their schools, share what’s working (and what’s not), and articulate a shared vision of a "Changemaker School."

Inspired Teaching releases its 2011 Annual Report

The past year was an exciting period of rapid growth and program expansion at Inspired Teaching. We launched our Demonstration School in Washington, DC, and created two district-level partnerships to train teachers in successful implementation of the Common Core State Standards.

Inspired Teaching Exceeds McGowan Fund Challenge Grant Goal

The William G. McGowan Charitable Fund challenged Center for Inspired Teaching to raise $150,000 from donors by June 30 in exchange for a $150,000 matching grant. As of June 30, Inspired Teaching had raised more than $230,000. The combined contributions support Inspired Teaching's work in transforming education through innovative teacher training.

Inspired Teaching Named Winner of Robert Wood Johnson Prize

Center for Inspired Teaching has been selected as a winner of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Prize as part of the Activating Empathy competition. The award recognizes Inspired Teaching's work to provide innovative teacher training that emphasizes empathy as a critical part of teaching and learning.
